About collars

Designed to sit close, hold steady, and look at home from weekday walks to weekends out. Explore Gentle Wuff collars made for daily wear.

A collar is the one piece of gear most dogs wear all day, so comfort and an easy buckle matter. The Ready-Go Collar is a flat collar with a magnetic Fidlock® quick-release buckle — one click on, one click off — a soft, flexible interior that moves with your dog, and recycled nylon webbing that holds steady without digging in or twisting. Reflective stitching adds visibility after dark.

Martingale vs flat collar: a martingale has a second loop that tightens a limited amount when the dog pulls, which some owners use for dogs whose heads are narrower than their necks so they can't slip out. A flat collar stays the same size, carries ID tags comfortably and is the usual everyday choice. If your dog pulls hard or backs out of collars on walks, clip the leash to a well-fitted harness instead and keep the flat collar on for tags.

To size, measure around the base of the neck and leave room for two fingers. The Ready-Go Collar comes in M (12–21 in neck) and L (15–24 in neck) and is part of the Gentle Wuff Simpatico™ System, so it matches the harness and leash.

Collars: common questions

Martingale or flat collar — which should I choose?
A flat collar is the everyday choice for ID tags and calm walks. A martingale tightens a limited amount under tension and is used for dogs that slip out of flat collars. For a dog that pulls, a front-clip harness usually gives better control.
What size collar does my dog need?
Measure around the base of the neck and add room for two fingers. The Ready-Go Collar comes in M (12–21 in) and L (15–24 in).
How tight should a dog collar be?
Two flat fingers should slide under the collar. If it slips over the ears, it's too loose.
