About harnesses

A close, considered fit for the miles between the front door and wherever you both end up. Explore Gentle Wuff harnesses designed to move with your dog.

A harness spreads leash pressure across your dog's chest and shoulders instead of concentrating it at the front of the neck, which is why so many owners choose one for everyday walks, training and dogs that pull. The Ready-Go Harness has two leash points: a front D-ring on the chest for control on training walks and busy streets, and a back D-ring for relaxed everyday walking.

Looking for a no-pull dog harness? The front clip is the part that matters. When your dog leans into the leash, the chest attachment turns them gently back toward you instead of letting them power forward, so pulling stops paying off. No harness replaces training, but a front clip makes loose-leash practice much easier.

Sizing works for small, medium and large dogs alike: S fits a 19–25 in chest girth, M 24–31 in and L 28–38 in. Measure the widest part of the ribcage just behind the front legs, and if your dog falls between two sizes, size down — the harness adjusts at several points. It's padded, closes with a magnetic Fidlock® buckle, and is made from recycled nylon with reflective webbing for early and late walks.

Harnesses: common questions

Will a front-clip harness stop my dog pulling?
It helps. When your dog pulls, the front (chest) clip turns them back toward you, which makes loose-leash training easier. It works best alongside rewards for walking beside you.
What size harness does my dog need?
Measure chest girth at the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs. S fits 19–25 in, M 24–31 in and L 28–38 in. Between sizes, size down.
Is a harness or a collar better for small dogs?
Many small dogs are more comfortable walking in a harness because it keeps leash pressure off the neck. Keep a collar on for ID tags, and ask your vet if your dog has a breathing or neck concern.
How do I clean the harness?
Hand wash with mild soap and air dry.
